Historical Images, Manuscript and Binding

Here are a few examples of images or representations of the trades associated with Medieval manuscript production.  Parchment makers, leather tanners, bookbinders, printers, and scribes were depicted in manuscripts and printed books and give us some idea of the nature of these occupations and their roles in society.
